Draw schedule, results archive, and how to use history to pick smarter

Florida Lotto has been running since January 1988, making it one of the longest-running state lottery games in the country. Draws happen every Wednesday and Saturday night at 11:15 PM ET. The game is a straightforward 6/53 format โ€” pick 6 numbers from 1 to 53, match all 6 to win the jackpot.

This page covers where to find the official Florida Lotto winning numbers history, how the draw archive is structured, and how frequency analysis of past draws can inform your number selection.

Where to Find Official Florida Lotto Results

The Florida Lottery publishes all past winning numbers on their official site at flalottery.com. Navigate to Winning Numbers โ†’ Search Past Results to pull results by date range. The archive goes back to the game's first draw in 1988.

How the Pool Has Changed Over Time

Florida Lotto originally used a 6/49 format when it launched in 1988. In 1999 the pool was expanded to 6/53 to grow jackpot sizes. This is important if you're analyzing long historical data โ€” draws before 1999 used a smaller pool and should not be mixed with post-1999 frequency analysis without accounting for the format change.

For hot/cold number analysis, the cleanest approach is to use draws from the last 90โ€“180 days only. This keeps your frequency data current and eliminates the format-change contamination entirely.

Understanding Florida Lotto Frequency Analysis

With 53 numbers and 6 picks per draw, each number has a theoretical probability of appearing in any single draw of 11.3%. Over a 90-day window covering approximately 25 draws, each number is expected to appear roughly 2โ€“3 times.

Numbers appearing 5 or more times in that 90-day window are running hot โ€” significantly above their expected rate. Numbers appearing 0โ€“1 times are cold.

Hot and cold designations are relative to the window you select. The same number can be hot in a 30-day window and cold in a 90-day window if it had a recent streak after a long dry spell. The 60-day window is the most balanced signal for Florida Lotto specifically because the 2x/week draw cadence gives you enough data without going stale.

Most Common Florida Lotto Number Patterns

Based on long-run Florida Lotto history, jackpot-winning tickets consistently show these characteristics:

Even/odd distribution:

Number range spread: Jackpot-winning sets almost always include numbers from at least 4 of the 6 number tiers (1โ€“9, 10โ€“17, 18โ€“26, 27โ€“36, 37โ€“45, 46โ€“53). Sets that cluster in the low or middle range โ€” a common pattern for birthday pickers โ€” are statistically underrepresented among actual jackpot winners.

Consecutive pairs: Consecutive number pairs (like 22โ€“23 or 38โ€“39) appear in roughly 25โ€“30% of Florida Lotto jackpot draws. Most players avoid consecutive numbers instinctively, which makes them an underplayed pattern worth including occasionally.

The XTRA Multiplier

Florida Lotto offers an XTRA option for an extra $1 per ticket. If you match 2โ€“5 numbers (not the jackpot), the XTRA multiplier โ€” drawn separately and ranging from 2x to 5x โ€” applies to your prize. The jackpot itself is not multiplied.

XTRA is generally worth adding when you're playing the 2 and 3-match prize tiers regularly. For jackpot-focused play it adds cost without changing the main prize.

Double Play

Florida Lotto also offers Double Play โ€” your same 6 numbers automatically enter a second drawing with a separate $250,000 top prize. Double Play draws happen after the main draw on Wednesday and Saturday nights using the same ticket numbers. It costs an extra $1 per play and is worth considering if you want two shots at a prize with one set of numbers.
